The TruVue® Heel Protector with Wedge is a pressure care boot made of fabric that comes in three sizes to ensure an optimal fit. It provides support to the foot and lower limb for pressure care and comfort, helping to reduce the risk of pressure injuries by lifting the heel off the bed and minimising the risk of pressure injury caused by rubbing against sheets.
The soft inner fabric helps to wick away moisture, and it can aid in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. The long sole can be opened to view the base of the foot, and the long length provides protection for the toes. The TruVue Heel Protector by EHOB is designed to mirror the natural shape of the leg and securely hold the leg and foot in place while allowing for full range of motion. The product is constructed with an anti-shear pad that acts as a barrier to shearing forces on the heel from a bed, offering patients a new level of support. The Achilles pillow is positioned under the Achilles tendon to provide heel elevation and cushioning to prevent pressure locations.
Additionally, the heel protector’s removable external wedge provides a stable base to resist leg rotation. The anti-foot-drop straps attach to each side of the boot, rather than the back, to alleviate pressure points around and on the base of the foot, and give caregivers the ability to pull the foot back to a neutral 90-degree orientation. Its deep, v-cut heel well fully offloads the heel without any product interaction and provides relief from product-to-heel engagement with foot flexion.
