Kobalt is active in the presence of serum, blood, faeces, urine and other organic matter. Its active constituent is of the Quaternary Ammonium Chloride group in an alcohol base.
Kobalt is not apparently absorbed to any significant extent although solutions containing alcohol may dry the skin with repeated contact. It is recognised as normal practice to always wear gloves when handling disinfectant solutions. Kobalt is not intended for use on Therapeutic Devices.
