DESCRIPTION

• Blood Control Feature: ViaValve® Safety IV Catheters have an internal valve that reduces blood exposure and contamination risk during venipuncture. The valve prevents blood from flowing out of the patient's vein when the catheter is first inserted, reducing potential contamination and exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
• Needlestick Safety: The catheter's safety guard surrounds the retracted introducer needle, producing an audible "click" to confirm that the needle is contained for safe handling and disposal. This feature helps prevent unintended needlestick injuries.
• Usage and Activation: The valve inside the catheter hub is activated by attaching the Luer fitting of an infusion line, allowing blood to flow freely through the catheter.
