sofsilk black suture / 3-0 / 19mm / 45cm / c-13 / box of 36
DESCRIPTION
Sofsilk silk sutures are nonabsorbable, sterile, non-mutagenic surgical sutures composed of natural proteinaceous silk fibers known as fibroin.
These fibers undergo a treatment process to eliminate the naturally occurring sericin gum and are then braided to create Sofsilk surgical silk sutures.
Available in a braided form, these sutures can be uniformly coated with silicone or a special wax mixture.
This coating serves to reduce capillarity and enhance surface lubricity, thereby improving handling characteristics, ease of tissue passage, and knot run-down properties during surgical procedures.
Sofsilk sutures are suitable for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, with applications ranging from cardiovascular and ophthalmic to microsurgery and neurological procedures.
Their reliability and versatility make them an essential component in various surgical settings.
