Instructions on Sling label
The Premier Lifting Sling is a full body Patient Sling with soft padded split legs and a padded head support. The sizes vary from Small Child to Bariatric size, including the medium wide size for most Patients that need extra width around the hips.
A variety of materials are available
(see Technical tab).
Note:
The head section is designed to hold the head when in the reclined position. If lifting in the sitting upright mode, it is possible to place a pillow behind the Patient’s head. This will give extra support.
This is a split leg Sling, but
Double Amputees
including above the knee amputees, can be lifted safely using the No.1 or No.2 leg loops. As the Patient is lifted, they will be in a semi-standing position, with more pressure in the groin and not be slipping backwards out of the Sling, which is a common problem with amputees. The Premier Lifting Sling can also be used in Hammock Style for Double Amputees, depending on where the leg is cut.
Also Available:
Sling Leg Shearing Sleeves
– When starting to lift, the Sling leg material under the thighs adjusts itself as it is being pulled up by the hoist. The material may shear against fragile skin. This could cause a wound if it is directly in contact with the Patient’s skin. This padded foam product allows the Sling to move inside the sleeve, without disturbing the Patient’s tender skin.
Sling Inspection Tags
– The Sling Inspection Tags are fully washable colour-coded inspection tags to help with compliance with the International Standard for Slings and Hoists: ISO 10535: Hoists for the transfer of disabled persons – Requirements and test methods.

Notes
Standard White
Nylon
This is called a solid material, as it is not a Mesh or Netting material that has holes in the material. The Nylon has some slipperiness, to make it easier to slide down behind a patient’s back, when they are sitting in a chair.
Blue Mesh
Polyester
This is a soft and comfortable Mesh with small holes. The holes can be cooler for the patient. Sometimes this material will be used for showering or in a bath.
Polyester Blue
Polyester
A comfortable, solid material, like the Nylon material, but not as slippery.
All Day Sling Material
Nylon
A strong, thin material with a Rip Stop thread in the material, to help reduce or prevent ripping. As the material is breathable the Slings can be left under the patients sitting in chairs. This reduces the need to remove the Sling after the patient has been hoisted into a chair, and then replace the Sling to pick them up again. Available for all sizes except Extra Large/Heavy Duty.
Please select the most appropriate material and sling design for the patient, but remember, if the patient’s condition changes, it may be necessary to use a different material and design of sling. See the FAQ tab for more information.
