The Osmate Calcium Alginate rope dressing is used in treatment of heavily exuding and deep wounds, and may also assist in the control of minor bleeding.
Naturally derived from seaweed and presented in gelling fibre rope form. Rope conforms to the contours of the wound, ensuring a moist would environment is sustained, and easy removal that ensures minimal disturbance to newly formed or fragile tissue.
Suitable for use with moderate to heavily exuding wound or bleeding wounds; treatment of superficial or deep wounds; pressure injuries; skin donor sites; and arterial, venous leg and diabetic ulcers.
Contraindications:
Not suitable for full thickness burns
Not suitable for dry wound conditions, unless moistened.
Should not be used if allergies to any of its components is known.
