leg-support-large
Leg Support – Large

The Leg Support is a light-weight foot stool which puts no pressure on the heels. There are two cover options available:
A blue water-resistant cover is easy to wipe clean, or can be removed and washed. This is good for people with oedema or incontinence issues. There is some noise when repositioning the feet.
A 100% Heat Sealed blue cover, which can be easily wiped clean. To allow for the heat sealed seam, there is a small ‘skirt’ at the bottom of the item. This will not affect how the item is used.
Main Features
Convoluted foam under the calves
No pressure on heels
Helps prevent foot-drop
Helps prevent oedema
Light to move or carry
Feet raised off cold and draughty floors
Soft foam construction that should not harm patients if they walk into it
When the legs are correctly in position, the weight is spread between the legs and the feet. This means there is no pressure on the heels. Some Patients with large, heavy legs could have a slight pressure on the heels, although by adjusting the position of the Leg Support, this pressure may be prevented. The Leg Support has a series of ridges to provide a soft convoluted surface for the calves to rest on. Foot-drop may be prevented by resting the feet on the angled front foot-rest, and as the Leg Support is made from foam, the Patient can press against the foot-rest section to exercise the feet.
When in use, please note that the Leg Support can be tilted up a bit, to provide alternative pressure points on the leg. During the course of a day, a Patient may like the support altered from the normal position to a variety of different angles. Some oedema Patients may need extra height for resting their legs, and use the support upside-down, thus losing the advantage of the leg and feet supports. With some badly contracted Patients, it may be better to use the support back to front but this can only be determined after observation of the Patient’s posture by nursing staff.
This product is to help with the prevention of pressure sores. Sometimes, due to the Patient deteriorating, the product may become unsuitable. Continuous monitoring is necessary and alternative products may be recommended.
Also available are:
Leg Support with Water-Resistant Cover
– A 35cm / 13.5″ wide version which also uses the blue water-resistant cover.
Leg Support with Grey Velour Cover
– A 35cm / 13.5″ wide version with a soft velour material which is very quiet when repositioning the feet
ALTERNATIVE OR RELATED PRODUCTS
Bed Wedge – Bariatric
Leg/Arm Bandaging Supports – Bariatric
Leg/Arm Sling – Heat Sealed
Leg Lifter

Item # 120L – Blue Water-Resistant Cover
Item # 120LHS – Blue Heat Sealed Cover
Size:
Centimetres: 70cm wide, 34cm deep (front to back), 30cm tall (in front of feet) 36cm tall (behind calves)
Inches: 27.5″wide, 13.5″ deep (front to back), 12″ tall (in front of feet) 12″ tall (behind calves)
