This may be when they are being fitted with a sling when getting out of bed.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe patient is log rolled in bed so the Arm Wrap can be placed behind them and then attached together over their arms. As soon as the patient has been lifted into their chair, it should be removed.\u003cbr\u003e\nThis product is an ADL (Aid to Daily Living). It can also be interpreted as a restraint. It is recommended to approve and document the use of the Arm Wrap in the patient’s care plan. When lifting the patient during the day, an alternative may be the\u003cbr\u003e\nArm Holder\u003cbr\u003e\n(sold separately), as this will hold one arm, while the Carer looks after the other arm.\u003cbr\u003e\nGeneral Public Restraint Authorisation Letter\u003cbr\u003e\nIf this product is purchased\u003cbr\u003e\nfor use in a private home\u003cbr\u003e\n, we require authorisation from a suitable person. This is to ensure it will be used correctly and safely by the family and\/or carers, and that using it will not be dangerous. Examples of a suitable person  who is able to sign the letter are: Occupational Therapist; Physiotherapist; Clinical Nurse Manager; Registered Nurse; Doctor; or another suitably qualified person.
