The shoulder joint usually needs to be kept at a suitable angle to aid healing. The Arm Elevation Sleep Cushion is designed to keep an arm in place when sleeping. It may help Patients who have had rotator cuff surgery, broken their arm, or who have had a stroke and suffer from hemiplegia.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe Arm Elevation Sleep Cushion is suitable for use on any size bed. The Cushion is curved to the shape of the abdominal area. It is specially designed to support the arm while side-sleeping. The base of the Cushion has a non-slip material to stop it from being displaced, compared to normal pillows which can dislodge and move out of position during the night. The Cushion can be used for either the left or right arm.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe Cushion can help a Patient sleep on their side, with their arm resting on the soft, convoluted foam arm rest and hand rest. The convolutions help with softness and blood flow. The Patient can also turn onto their back with their arm still in position on the arm rest. The arm can be kept in position by using an Arm Cuff. The thumb loop can be adjusted to size.\u003cbr\u003e\nTake the Shoulder Strap from the wrist area over the unaffected shoulder, across the back and down through the plastic D-Ring next to the elbow, adjusting to size.\u003cbr\u003e\nPlace the Abductor Pillow under the Sling so it is held in position by the Hook \u0026amp; Loop Tape fastening. The surgeon will decide if the bulbous end is to be in front or beside the chest.\u003cbr\u003e\nUse the Waist Strap Positioning Stick to gently slide the Waist Strap under the small of the Patient’s back to secure the Sling around the Patient’s waist. The Hook Tape should be on the outside. The wrist section can be opened for inspection by undoing one of the Hook \u0026amp; Loop tags.
